Hey everyone,
Picture this.
You are driving. Running late. You remember you have a hotel booked but cannot recall the address. Your phone is in your bag. You are on the motorway.
Old way: pull over, dig out the phone, find the booking, copy the address, open Maps, paste it, merge back into traffic. Seven minutes. One near-miss.
New way: "Hey Google, I have a hotel booked for tonight. Check my email and navigate there."
Gemini checks your Gmail, finds the confirmation, extracts the address, and starts navigation. Hands never leave the wheel.
That is not a concept. That is rolling out to cars right now.

Why does every QBR sound like it took an hour to prep?
The strategic-account QBR has a different feeling. The CSM walks in knowing the buying committee, usage trends, support history, news on the company. They've blocked an hour to prep. The customer feels seen.
The other 190 QBRs don't get that hour. The CSM scans the dashboard five minutes before the call. They wing it. The customer answers the same baseline questions for the third time this year.
What if every QBR was a strategic-account QBR? Two minutes before the call, your CSM has the full brief in Slack: usage trends, support history, NPS, news on the company, what their champion just posted on LinkedIn.
Every customer feels like your top customer. Even when there are 200 of them.
3,000+ tools connected. SOC 2 certified. Your data never trains models.
"It was almost instantly adopted by the bulk of my team." Boris Wexler, CEO, Space Dinosaurs

Google Gemini Just Replaced the Voice Assistant You Have Been Arguing With for Five Years
Google has begun rolling out Gemini to cars with Google built-in, replacing the old Google Assistant entirely. This update arrives via software to both new and existing vehicles. No hardware upgrade required.
The scale is genuinely hard to process. Android Auto is available in over 250 million cars. General Motors alone confirmed approximately 4 million US vehicles are eligible covering Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC from model year 2022 onwards.
What It Can Actually Do
Tell it three stops and a fuel constraint in one sentence. It plans the route, checks Maps in real time, and optimises accordingly. No more programming stops one at a time.
Email and calendar while driving
Ask it to find a hotel booking buried in Gmail and navigate there
Get your calendar summarised before you arrive at a meeting
Catch up on messages hands-free through audio summaries
Natural message management
Say "Send Anna a message saying I am bringing dessert and add a cupcake emoji. Actually, also ask if I should bring anything else." Gemini handles the edit without you repeating yourself. It can also translate messages into over 40 languages before sending.
Vehicle-specific knowledge
Gemini draws from your manufacturer's owner's manual for your specific model. Ask how to stop your boot hitting a low garage ceiling. Ask how to prep the car for an automatic wash. It has read the manual you never did.
Entertainment beyond commands
"Play upbeat 70s folk-rock but skip the slow ballads." That is a real request it can handle. The days of needing to know a station's exact name or frequency are finished.
The Competition Nobody Is Talking About Clearly Enough
Company | Car Presence | Approach |
|---|---|---|
250 million Android Auto cars | Gemini upgrade via software | |
OpenAI | iPhone via CarPlay | ChatGPT voice mode on steering wheel |
Apple | iOS 27 opens Siri to all AI models | Routing layer, user chooses the model |
Amazon | Millions via Toyota, BMW, Ford | Alexa OEM deals, losing ground fast |
The winner will not be chosen by manufacturers. It will be chosen by drivers who decide which voice they prefer to speak to for 90 minutes a day.
The Concerns Worth Knowing
This is Google's most intimate data access ever. Real-time location, Gmail, calendar, messages, driving patterns, the businesses you stop at, the people you call. The integration is genuinely powerful. It is also genuinely vast.
Early reviewers also noted occasional failures on complex tasks, particularly with variable network connection. An assistant that misreads intent in a chat window is annoying. In a moving vehicle it is something else entirely.

How to Get It This Week
Check your infotainment screen for an upgrade prompt if your car has Google built-in from 2020 onwards
Make sure the Gemini app is on your phone for Android Auto
Grant Gmail and Calendar permissions when prompted or you get a significantly reduced experience
Try asking it something specific about your car model on the first drive. That is the moment most people realise this is genuinely different from everything before it.
Catch you next time,

P.S. Share this with the driver in your life who spends an hour a day arguing with their voice assistant. Their commute just changed.
