Hey everyone,

You know that feeling when you open an AI tool to continue something you were working on yesterday?

And it has absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

You have to re-explain everything. Re-upload the files. Re-paste the instructions. And by the time you are ready to actually work, ten minutes are already gone.

Anthropic just fixed that. And honestly, it is one of those updates that sounds small until you realize how much time you were wasting without it.

What is Cowork first

Before we get into the new stuff, quick context.

Claude Cowork is Anthropic's desktop tool built for everyday office workers. Not developers. Not engineers. Regular people who want Claude to actually handle tasks end to end. Draft reports. Organize files. Automate browser actions. Connect with Google Drive, Gmail, and DocuSign.

The whole idea is that Claude does not just give you suggestions. It delivers finished work.

So what just changed

On March 20th Anthropic dropped a new feature called Projects. Here is what it actually means.

Before this update, every time you opened Cowork you started completely fresh. New session. Blank slate. No memory of anything you had done before. Every task felt like meeting Claude for the first time again.

Projects fixes that by giving each area of your work its own permanent home. Your files, your instructions, and your task history all stay in one place between sessions. You sit down, open your project, and Claude already knows exactly where you left off.

Three things you can do right now

  • Start fresh. Open a brand new project with a clean slate for something completely new.

  • Import old chats. Pull in your previous conversations so the context you built up does not disappear.

  • Connect a local folder. Link a folder on your computer directly to the project. Claude can access your documents without you pasting everything in manually every single time.

That last one is worth pausing on. Your files stay on your machine. They never leave your computer. You control exactly what Claude can see. For anyone dealing with sensitive work documents that is a genuinely big deal.

The scheduled tasks piece

Anthropic quietly introduced scheduled tasks back in February. You could set Claude to run certain tasks automatically on a timer. The problem was those tasks were floating loose with no real home.

Now they plug directly into Projects. So your weekly research pipeline, your recurring reports, your regular file organization runs, all of that lives inside one project and runs on schedule without you doing anything.

That is getting close to having an actual assistant on your computer. Not a chatbot. An assistant.

Who can use it and what it costs

Cowork requires a Claude Max subscription. That runs between a hundred and two hundred dollars a month depending on your plan.

Not cheap. But if you are doing the kind of work where an hour saved per day compounds into serious time over a month, the math starts making sense pretty quickly.

What is coming next

Anthropic has announced upcoming features such as cross-device sync and additional safety enhancements, indicating the ongoing growth of the platform.

Consider Projects as providing Claude with a dedicated workspace for each aspect of your work, where the relevant files, instructions, and history are already in place.

Each session feels seamless, as if resuming exactly where you left off. This eliminates the need to start from scratch, which alone makes it worth noting.

Catch you next time.
